Supreme Court Refuses to Review American Samoan Citizenship Case, Insular Cases
The Court could have finally overturned one of the most racist set of cases in its jurisprudence, and declined to do so.

On Monday, the United States Supreme Court denied a Writ of Certiorari in the case of Fitisemanu v. U.S. While the denial has garnered short news blurbs that don’t go into much detail other than to quickly describe the case and declare that the court denied the writ, there hasn’t been a lot of critical reaction in the legal world or in the postcolonial studies world to the denial just yet. And, honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if there isThern’t much going forward.
